Rich pickings!

At the weekend we collected these from the hedgerow. They made a perfect crumble which tasted even nicer because all the fruit was free! It was glorious! Obviously we didn't eat the conkers they just make the picture look nice.

Delicious... delicious... delicious...
Picking fruit is good for the soul and good for the tummy. We too have picked blackberries to go with our home-grown bramleys, and we managed to find sloes and damsons too. So we have some damson and ginger chutney maturing on the shelf for Christmas, and some sloe gin. Although I'm very, very sorry to say that won't be ready until next year! x
