Snow in the park
So it was more "Snow in the Park" than "Vintage in the Park" but I managed to get there and folk came to see our stalls in snow boots and wrapped up for the arctic - IN MARCH - ONE WEEK TO EASTER! Anyway, it was a nice day (a little quiet due to the weather) and I met some lovely people. Above are some pics of my stall and some of the little characters I made especially for the fair. Roll on Spring!

Vintage Fair
If you are in the Northampton area tomorrow and you fancy some Vintage in the Park, pop along and say hi-de-hi. The fair is taking place at the lovely Abington Park museum in Northampton between 11 - 3pm, it's a quid to get in. There will be 42 great stalls and I'll be selling my wares - some vintage and some hand-made and upcycled stuff. There will also be tea and cake available in the old style tea room. For more info have a gander at this link.

Vintage Edition
Here are some of the cards I worked on for Lime Cards. It was a lovely range to design as I was asked to use newspaper, vintage images, buttons, ribbons and other charms. For more info on the range follow the link here.

We did it!
The sopranos MK Rock Chorus (I am far left with my eyes closed lol!) |
The rehearsals in the afternoon |
We did our concert last night and it was FABULOUS - Loved It - Loved it - Loved it! The audience seemed to enjoy it as much as we did. I managed to have a go at all the songs and because I was at the back, didn't feel too conspicuous when I went wrong. Can't wait for the next concert. Rock Chorus where have you been all my life?

A day for mum's
If you are a mum, I hope you had a brilliant relaxing day yesterday. I was thoroughly spoilt and received a lovely bunch of flowers and some great hand made cards from my children. I'm loving the use of neon on the cards kids : )

World Book Day
Yesterday was World Book Day (in case you don't know, it's a day created to encourage children to read more books and kids dress up in their favorite characters and spend the day talking about books and reading). My son dressed up as Bond: James Bond 007. Easy outfit to recreate (thanks son). It got me thinking about the books that inspired me at Junior school. I read Enid Blyton and loved Malory Towers and The Enchanted Wood but what I kept hunting out in the library (even when they were too young for me) was Miffy. I loved all the Dick Bruna books and understand now that it's the simple graphics and vibrant colours that hooked me. The Dick Bruna museum in Utrecht is on my list of places to visit sometime soon.

Cake is the answer!
I think I prefer cake to wine to be honest. Here are some pics of the glorious huge cakes my friend made for us last weekend (she made 4 in total: carrot, caramelized apple, chocolate and lemon drizzle, all of them decorated beautifully with glitter, chocolate strands and cream - nom nom nom). Fantastic cakes, lovely crockery and lots of good chat with great friends - a perfect weekend! I saw the pin board in a shop recently, my sentiments exactly.
