Wonky fruit and veg

Anyone else been watching the Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall series Hugh's War on Waste on the BBC? I have just watched it on catch up and was shocked by the amount of food that doesn't even get to the supermarket. 30% of the fruit and veg grown doesn't even reach the supermarket as it's deemed imperfect (supermarkets have stringent standards). Seeing tons of edible fruit and veg that was just a bit wonky or slightly blemished  thrown away is shameful. You can see the series here and sign the petition here!

On 6 Music today Lauren Laverne was talking about Billy Preston's amazing dancing.  I looked him up on Youtube and wow yes what an amazing dancer - love his yellow suit too...

Still loving a pom-pom

As the nights draw and it's getting wintery outside, I find making pom- poms a cosy occupation while snuggling up on the sofa of an evening. I can't stop adding them to stuff and making them. When making my own I use  a pom-pom maker from here, it's great and you can make them super quickly and in different sizes. It's half term week!

Trip up north

I used to work in the north east and still have friends there so it was lovely to visit and spend the weekend in Darlington. In between talking, laughing, eating flapjacks and drinking tea we visited Bowes Museum to see the Yves St Laurent exhibition. It's not a very big exhibition but it's well worth a visit if you are near Barnard Castle. You will see some of the most fabulous iconic outfits also many working drawings, embroidery samples and toiles. It's not on for much longer so get a move on if you fancy it : )

Who's a pretty boy?
