It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas...

...well it's not looking very Christmassy in our house yet - but it will soon if our son has anything to do with it. Here are some more Crimbo card samples sent to my by the lovely folk at Abacus Cards : ) Hard to photograph because it's dark and they are all glittered up but I think you'll get the general idea. These are in the shops now.

Christmas designs for Abacus

If you like a bit of foiling and embossing then these chrissie cards might be for you. I did these for Abacus cards so pop along to your super dooper card shop and snap 'em up now. Feeling festive yet?

Apple Day

Apparently there are 7500 varieties of apple, 2000 are English. We only ever seem to buy Granny Smiths or Pink Lady. We aren't very adventurous I'm afraid. These designs were inspired by Apple Day and apples in general really.

Just a Card Campaign

This week on Instagram I'm joining in with the Just a Card campaign. Day one "about me" is in stories for the next few hours.

The JUST A CARD campaign aims to encourage people to buy from Designer/Makers and Independent Galleries and Shops by reinforcing the message that all purchases, however small, even 'just a card' are so vital to the prosperity and survival of small businesses.

The campaign came about when Artist & Designer Sarah Hamilton saw the quote "If everyone who'd complimented our beautiful gallery had bought 'just a card' we'd still be open" by store keepers who'd recently closed their gallery. This prompted a call to action! Designer/Makers and independent shops and galleries need a voice. People seldom realise the considerable costs involved in exhibiting at design shows or keeping a shop open. Stand fees, power, materials, wages etc need to be met before even a penny of profit can be realised. Running a shop is often a labour of love. Without dedication and passion, and crucially sales, it would be another boarded up eyesore.

Strong Women print and pattern in my Red Bubble shop

Malala, Audrey, Frida, Emily, Mary, Amy, Rosa, Jessica, Mother Theresa and Debbie. Due to popular demand, I’ve finally got round to getting my strong women art onto some product in my Red Bubble shop. I think it would be FABULOUS if it was possible to get all these women in one room. They are strong women, I admire all of them. Creativity, resilience determination, innovation, they are awesome! Links to the three different designs here here and here : )
