Armchair Glastonbury 2014

Arcade Fire looked fab. at Glastonbury this year. They and their shows are such a creative force (take a look at Régine Chassagne reflektor dress in this video - stunning). It would have been fabulous to have trotten the muddy path to Glasto but the good old BBC did us proud with tons of coverage on three channels. You don't get the same atmosphere I know but and you can stay warm and dry sitting on a comfy sofa.

Gifts for a special teacher

It's getting to that time again when your kids start asking what can they buy their teacher? I think Mr Mullet (yes, that is his name and no, he doesn't have a mullet hairstyle) would probably prefer a bottle of wine (or three) but my kids always want to take chocolates in. Teachers must get so many chocolates so you could buy this mug I designed instead - from good gift shops NOW!

The perfect way to spend a hot, hot, hot day...

...watching live music, with mates in a venue that is down the road. We had a fab. time at the Milton Keynes Bowl last night watching the Kings of Leon. So many excellent anthems, they played hit after hit and we sang and danced along all evening. The highlight of the night though was the support act, the trio of L.A sisters, Haim. They are so cool, sounded brilliant and I loved all their set. If I could choose a different life (and could play an instrument and sing) I would be in a band like Haim.

Dashwoods 1st birthday

It has been almost a year since Dashwood Studio launched their first collection Enchanted Forest.They’ve created 8 signature collections, a range of 4 novelty prints and a collection of 18 Flurry print colour co-ordinates. They have worked with 6 designers (one of them is ME!) and have been featured on some of my favourite blogs and in some leading magazines such as Print and Pattern, 91 Magazine, and Love Patchwork and Quilting. To celebrate a year in business, and to highlight the variety of prints and collections the designers have created, they asked Lynn Goldsworthy of Lily’s Quilts to make a special anniversary quilt using (nearly) all the fabrics! Some of mine are in there too - yey! Happy Birthday Dashwood - you are FAB!

Race forLife

I forgot to mention that I did the Race for Life with my Rock Chorus mates at the weekend. Here we are (L to R: Me, Anne, Becky, Jane and Maureen) after doing the 5k.
