Tra-la-la-la-la: Who Loves you

Back to choir this week - hurray! We sang "Who Loves You Pretty Baby" originally sang by Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons (1975), check out the hair and clothes in this video, classic 70's stuff going on there.  It's good to see even Frankie reads his words, I am so struggling to learn all mine. Three weeks to the concert.

Mad Hatters Tea

Mad-Hatters-Tea-Party at the Sanderson Hotel
This looks FABULOUS if you are up for a special treat. Sanderson Hotel in London invites you to “tumble down the rabbit hole” and enjoy the wonderful world of Afternoon Tea in their beautiful Courtyard Garden. This new incarnation of Afternoon Tea highlights their collaboration with design collective Luna & Curious, who crafted bespoke crockery with a carnival theme for the service.

Menus are hidden inside vintage books, and napkins wrapped with riddles, while teapots adorned with kings and queens and sandwich plates featuring zebras, birdcages, carousels and ticking clocks play host to wondrous fare. The Mad Hatter’s Afternoon Tea at Sanderson will continue to evolve, with elements changing seasonally.  Tea is served daily and is priced at £35 per person. I'd LOVE to go - better start saving :  )

Sweets for breakfast

Well is was half term and we were in the Peak District for a few days so it would be rude not to eat lots of sweets and have lots of treats. Bike rides in the sun, staying in a log cabin, walks in the grounds of Chatsworth - PERFECT! Oh and we saw lots of sheep too.

Tra- la-la-la-la: Homework

Unfortunately there is no choir this week : ( BUT I have plenty of homework and lots of tunes to learn. Love Train (The O'jays 1973) is the next song on my list. This video of the song is made up of various film clips of people on trains - I was rubbish at trying to guess all the films. Four weeks to the concert.

Hand written

I got a letter today, a hand written letter from a friend I have known for ages. We rarely see each other and keep in touch via Christmas cards and birthday cards. The fact that someone had taken time to write a personal message, choose nice paper (even the envelope was one of those with a tissue lining - nice) was lovely. I have to admit I emailed her back to say thanks for the letter and news - lazy I know but I was keen to reply and was worried I wouldn't make time to "write" a letter and wanted to confirm receipt of hers. Then this evening I felt very guilty after reading an article about the singer Paloma Faith. She talked of writing letters and mentioned that she sends hand written notes to anyone who mentions that they would like a letter. How nice I thought. She uses lovely paper and I imagine it's a real treat to see the envelope on the doormat. So, this got me thinking. Firstly that I will make time to reply properly to letters in the future (should I be lucky enough to get another one) and does anyone out there fancy a handwritten letter swap?

Tra-la-la-la-la: The Last Time

We sang "The Last Time" by The Rolling Stones (1965)  tonight at Rock Choir. Yey - great fun! This bit of film is from Top of the Pops and has George Best dancing in the crowd. I'm loving the beehive hairstyle of his dancing partner, I wish I could get my hair to do that. Five weeks to the concert.
